Living A Healthy Green Lifestyle While Pregnant.

It seems almost impossible to live a healthy green lifestyle while you are pregnant.

It’s almost as if they just forget altogether during those wonderful, exciting, and yet stressful 9 months. Some would like to not gain so much excessive weight and are asking themselves “how can I lose weight?”

So imagine what it would be like if, there was a trick to remember how to live a healthy green lifestyle through out your pregnancy?

Assortment is your first key.  A daily assortment of food and their nutrients is the reality of this key. We all know that variety is the spice of life…well in reality, it is the key to life. During pregnancy you want to try and avoid getting too many of 1 nutrient to you and your baby than another. A variety of organic foods will provide the most substantial benefits to both you and your growing baby. This is due to the lack of many man made processes that either kill or prevent proper nutrients from being produced. There are many natural organic recipes for pregnant women out there … so don’t worry!

Balance is the next fundamental to keep in mind. Here’s the bottom line, balance and moderation is the key to any diet, so there is no reason to deny yourself a bowl of rocky road ice cream but…the whole container is crossing the line. You want to keep all your meals as balanced as possible using natural organic recipes or whatever healthy eating recipes you feel comfortable with. Using these types of recipes, you can make sure you are getting enough vitamins, whole grains and lean protein. Eating one and not the other is not going to help you or your baby in any way shape or form. Cashing in on those random cravings is fine every now and then…but only if you keep it in moderation So if you want a cookie, have one already! :)

A spectrum of Color is the final key.
You want your plate to look as colorful as possible. Look at fresh fruit and veggies to paint your plate. The broader the spectrum of color on your plate, the more appeasing it is going to look to your eyes. Have you ever noticed how incredibly tasty the dishes on cooking shows and magazines look? Simple, because of the picture perfect spectrum of color that’s used in the creation of these dishes. The variety is amazing! You can get red strawberries and tomatoes to yellow peppers and squash. Pick your favorite colors and create your dishes based on that. Or check out natural organic recipes that are sure to cover all of the ins and outs of coloring your dishes.

If you find you that you are getting sick of the food you have been eating, then it’s time to start experimenting with different foods. Trying organic or all natural foods in your pregnancy diet can really help you out because they taste so much better than many non-organic foods.

Nothing will ruin your good habits faster than boredom. Add little touches of different dips with your daily veggies, instead of the normal lite ranch dressing. Enjoy your food and try not to gulp it down. This will help avoid heartburn too! When you decide to treat yourself, leave the guilt at the door…after all, you are growing a person inside of you.
